Ticket Subsidy ProgramDuring the 2007-2008 school year, more than 33,000 students from nearly 100 schools were introduced to arts and cultural opportunities throughout our region. These opportunities included symphony concerts, dramatic performances, museum exhibits, and more. ** We can accept your STS requests beginning at 7:00 a.m. local time on Monday, September 15, 2008 (with earliest school activity on October 15, 2008) for the 2008-2009 school year. Arts and cultural activities can improve the quality of everyone’s life, but especially our youngest citizens. Studies continue to show how participation in arts and culture increase test scores, decrease drop out rates, and improve discipline and self-esteem. Through arts and cultural activities we can work together to nurture the citizens and leaders of tomorrow. These opportunities should be available to as many children as possible, regardless of their economic or social status. That’s why the Alliance, through a program funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission, offers a ticket subsidy program to at-risk and underserved youth throughout the region. The Ticket Subsidy Program provides 100% of the ticket cost and transportation for students to attend approved arts and cultural events in the region. The program affords schools the opportunity to take students to art events, exhibitions, and performances throughout the East Development District of East Tennessee. Funds are available through the Alliance for students in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union Counties. If you are located in the Southeast Development District of East Tennessee, contact: Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga, 2 Bluff View Drive, Chattanooga, TN. 37377 (423-756-2787) If you are located in Hamblen, Jefferson, Cocke, Grainger, Claiborne, Hancock, Hawkins & Sullivan Counties, contact: Rose Center, P.O.
