Arts & Culture Alliance Presents New Works in The Balcony, May 7-28
(04/14/2010/Knoxville) – The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a new group exhibition featuring works by seven local artists:
+ Thomas C. Britt - Britt will display a series of realistic paintings. He currently resides in a Nashville Correctional Facility. www.inmateartists.com

+ Benjamin Katz - Katz will display sculptural art as a nonsensical commentary on our perception of nature and how it is influenced by our different roles in society.
+ Joseph Lantrip - Lantrip is a self-taught artist who recently has explored 2-D media such as pencil, ink, and pastels. He currently resides in a Nashville Correctional Facility. www.inmateartists.com
+ Victoria Lenne – Artist statement: “The work in this exhibition is my continued investigation of landscape; perhaps not in the strict sense of landscape painting, but atmospheric landscapes, those places of memory, presence, ‘being.’” www.victorialenne.com
+ Bobby K. Nash - Nash is a self-taught artist who will exhibit a series of paintings. He currently resides at the Southeastern Tennessee State Regional Correctional Facility. www.inmateartists.com
+ Sam Nicosia - Nicosia will exhibit photography and contemporary figurative painting.
The exhibition will be on display in the Balcony at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville from May 7-28, 2010. An opening reception will take place as part of First Friday activities on May 7 from 5:00-9:00 PM. The Emporium Center is located at 100 S. Gay Street, Knoxville, TN 37902. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM with additional hours on Saturday, May 8 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
