Amadeus Concert Ensemble: Organ Spectacular
Sun Jan 25, 5:30 PM
Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 711 S. Northshore Drive

The public is invited to attend ACE’s second free-admission concert of the season under the baton of ACE Artistic Director Brian Salesky. The unique program, featuring internationally renowned organist Dr. Byongsuk Moon, is part of the Cathedral Concert Series. This concert marks the first time the Cathedral’s monumental Casavant Freres organ will be accompanied by an orchestra. The organ will be featured in the Knoxville premieres of Rheinberger’s Organ Concerto No. 2 and Stamm’s Celtic Pleasure, along with Respighi’s Canticle.

Three works by Händel open the concert: the regal March and bombastic Battle Music from Rinaldo, the heavenly “Eternal source of light divine” from Birthday-Ode for Queen Anne, and the vivacious “Iris, hence away” from Semele. Alto Diana Salesky is the vocal soloist. Completing the program will be Vivaldi’s thrilling Concerto for Two Trumpets featuring trumpeters Sarah Fellenbaum and Dr. Brett Long, and Mouret’s beloved First Suite de Symphonies which includes the popular “Masterpiece Theatre” trumpet theme.

Free reservations are available on Eventbrite.
