Knoxville Children’s Theatre: The Crucible
Oct 24 – Nov 9 (Thu & Fri at 7 PM; Sat at 1 PM; Sun at 3 PM)
747 World Fair Park Drive, Knoxville, TN 37902
Knoxville Children’s Theatre, in partnership with Clayton Foundation, will present 12 live performances of Arther Miller’s The Crucible. KCT’s version is the classic play geared for ages 12 and up. The play will be performed October 24th through November 9th: Thursdays and Fridays at 7 PM (no show on Halloween), Saturdays at 1 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM.
In the Puritan community of Salem, Massachusetts, a servant girl accuses a farmer’s wife of witchcraft. One accusation spirals into many and uncovers a web of bigotry and deceit that changes their lives forever. Among the most produced plays since its 1953 debut, THE CRUCIBLE is both a gripping historical drama and an evergreen parable of contemporary society. Many area schools, including Knox County, study this play in their English classes.
