Knoxville Symphony Orchestra: Frankenstein!!
Part of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s 2017-2018 Chamber Classics Series, which marks the KSO’s 82nd season. This program opens the Chamber Classics series with with Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 60 known as Il Distratto, or “The Distracted,” which is a playful piece intended to almost make the audience laugh out loud. The second half includes Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony, and concludes with Austrian composer HK Gruber’s Frankenstein!! A Pan-Demonium for Chansonnier & Ensemble. Debuted in 1978, this humorous piece includes spoken word and sung verse by a narrator or chansonnier to accompany the orchestra who talk-sings of Frankenstein and other demons he encounters.

Advance reservations required? YES – must redeem by visiting or calling the KSO Box Office prior to the day of the concert (M-F 9-5). This offer is not available through web sales or for walk up sales at the venue the afternoon or evening of the concert.
