Part of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s Moxley Carmichael Masterworks Series, which marks the KSO’s 83rd season.

This Masterworks performance begins with the historically complex “Egmont Overture” by Beethoven; written as a dedication to the heroism shown by the French nobleman from whom the title is given. The night continues with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto performed by Robyn Bollinger. Bollinger is an honors graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s and master’s degree including a frequent member of the Grammy-nominated string orchestra, A Far Cry. The program ends with Shostakovich’s somber Symphony No. 5 conducted by KSO Music Director Aram Demirjian.
