The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association (ORCMA) will present internationally acclaimed pianist Danae Dörken in a special Valentine’s Day concert as part of its Chamber Music Series. The afternoon performance will explore how folk music traditions from Poland, Greece, Hungary, Austria, Norway, and Spain have inspired classical composers. Dörken, a German-Greek pianist known for her technical brilliance and expressive playing, has crafted a program that reflects her belief that diversity brings people together and strengthens communities. The concert will feature works by Chopin, Kalomiris, Liszt, Bartók, Schubert, Grieg, and de Falla, including favorites such as Grieg’s “Wedding Day at Troldhaugen” and de Falla’s “Ritual Fire Dance.” Concert attendees will also receive 10% off their meal at Fire & Salt on Valentine’s Day when they present their concert ticket. The offer is valid for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., creating an ideal pairing of world-class music and a special holiday meal at one of Oak Ridge’s premier restaurants.
