Our City and County mayors have once again asked the Arts & Culture Alliance to display the artwork of our individual Alliance members on the sixth floor of the City County Building at 400 Main Street in downtown Knoxville. We invite you to submit work for consideration for this opportunity to exhibit your artwork in this important civic space.

About the Exhibition Space

Artwork will be displayed in two places: 1) in the anterooms of City Mayor Indya Kincannon, and 2) in the hallway outside both the City Mayor and County Mayor Betsy Henderson’s offices. Artwork will remain on display from approximately November 2026 – April 2027.

Works should be original, made within the last 5 years (2021 – 2026). Artists must be members of the Arts and Culture Alliance to apply. If you are not a member, join today! Applicants can submit up to 2 works for consideration.

Please note that artwork is selected with consideration for the exhibition as a whole. While no specific theme or color palette is required, works are chosen to create a cohesive presentation within the gallery space. As a result, some artists may have all, some, or none of their submitted works included in the exhibition. Artists whose work is not selected will be contacted following installation to arrange pickup.

Artwork Requirements:

  • 2-D original works that are Framed or with finished edges (triptychs and diptychs are not eligible). Please note there is limited space (one very small table) available for 3D works
  • Wired for hanging (unwired works will not be hung)
  • No Larger than 48″ x 48″
  • Weigh less than 30 lbs.
  • Name and artwork title are on the back of each piece

Application Process: 

  1. If you are not already a member, join the Arts & Culture Alliance today!
  2. Prepare your Images: 1-2 images exported as jpeg, jpg, or png files with the file name LastName_TitleofWork.  Images must be 800 pixels on the longest side. For assistance resizing and renaming images please review: Resizing and Renaming Digital Photos
  3. Complete the form at the bottom of this page.
  4. Drop off your pieces at the Emporium

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Upcoming Exhibitors: Deliver 1-2 Artworks to the Alliance Offices at the Emporium by Wednesday, October 28 at 5:00PM. You may drop off your work earlier during our open hours (M-F 9:00AM – 5:00PM, Sa 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Current Exhibitors: Work from current exhibition can be picked up during the Meet & Greet with the mayors (Day & Time TBD) or after during open hours.
