Bijou Theatre: Summer Camps

Looking to expand your skill set this summer? If so, the Bijou Theatre Summer Camps are the perfect opportunity for young performers between the ages of 9 and 12. Join us for a fun-packed summer camp filled with learning, performing on one of the oldest stages in Tennessee, and making new friends!

The Bijou Summer Acting Camp
July 11-15, 9:00am – 3:00pm daily
Ages: 9-12, Cost: $200
Focus: Theatre basics, improvisation, playwriting, scene study
This fun-filled camp will focus on acting basics to fine-tune your budding performer’s skills! From improvisation games to scene studies to writing their own scripts, your student will leave the week feeling more confident and creative on stage. Students will also get a private movie screening, a Disney sing-along, and an end-of-the-week pizza party!

The Bijou Summer Acting Camp – Musical Edition
July 25-29, 9:00am – 3:00pm daily
Ages: 9-12, Cost: $200
Focus: Singing techniques, dance basics, acting basics
This week’s session focuses on the world of musical theatre! Students will learn to apply characterization to songs, singing techniques, a musical theatre dance routine, and more. Students will also analyze and view a Broadway musical recording, have a musical karaoke party, view musical performances by guest artists, and of course, an end-of-the-week pizza party.

Children will need to bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle. Comfortable, movable clothing and shoes are required. Sandals, flip-flops, and gum are not allowed.
