Oak Ridge Civic Music Association: A Musical Exploration of Cultures

Become musically immersed in the topics of American Black Music, Indigenous heritage, hate crimes, and immigration during the opening concert. Inspired by the very successful 2023 “Roots of America” Lecture Series hosted by the Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning (ORICL) in partnership with the Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary Club, the concert includes music by Gonzalo Castellanos-Yumar, Carlos Simon, Szymon Laks, Aaron Copland, and Louis Ballard performed by a small sinfonietta of the orchestra’s principal musicians. Tickets are required and may be obtained online or at the Box Office.
