The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association is set to deliver a celebration that promises to resonate deeply with music lovers and aficionados alike. Presenting “Bach & Friends,” the Oak Ridge Symphony Brass & Percussion Ensemble, under the baton of Music Director Régulo Stabilito, will grace the stage with a captivating performance. Featuring the distinguished organist Dr. Sarah Simko as the soloist, this musical extravaganza is poised to captivate audiences with its powerful repertoire. The program is designed to take audiences on a musical journey, showcasing a diverse range of pieces carefully curated to evoke emotions and stir the soul. From the intricate harmonies of J. S. Bach’s “The Art of the Fugue” to the bold brass fanfares by Aaron Copland, Joan Tower, and Valerie Coleman, each composition promises to leave a lasting impression. One of the highlights will be the performance of Diego Vega’s “Sinfoniæ Profanæ,” featuring the virtuoso talents of Dr. Sarah Simko on the organ. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the artists and deepen their appreciation for the music through pre-concert talks. Starting 30 minutes before each performance, these talks offer insights into the composers, the pieces being performed, and the artistic vision behind the concert.

Admission to the performance on Sat Feb 17 is free with donations graciously accepted by the church. Tickets for Sun Feb 18 are available at https://orcma.vbotickets.com/events. Adults are $30, young adults are $10, and youth are free!
