Oak Ridge Civic Music Association: Jeff Midkiff’s FREE Music Improvisation Workshop for All
Virtuoso musician and composer Jeff Midkiff presents a free music improvisation workshop with a focus on Appalachian and folk music, Saturday, October, 9, 2021 in the Performing Arts Center Lobby at Oak Ridge High School. Music lovers, professional musicians, and budding musicians of all ages, instruments, and genres are invited to attend and participate. With a bachelor’s degree in music education, a master’s degree in clarinet, and a Distinguished Music Educator Award from Yale, Jeff Midkiff is a master teacher you don’t want to miss. He’s performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival, and he’s also a public school music educator! Come and watch, or bring your instrument and ready to learn! Free and open to the public, the workshop is part of ORCMA’s educational programming, always free for youths 18 and under.
FREE. All ORCMA concerts and activities are created following health and safety protocols that are evaluated regularly. Currently, all attendees are required to be masked and practice social distancing. Programs and artists subject to change or cancellation depending on health guidelines.
