Oak Ridge Civic Music Association: Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra & Chorus: Native Lands Take 2

The full Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and the combined Oak Ridge Chorus and Roane Choral Society, open ORCMA’s 2021–2022 subscription season with Native Lands, Take 2, on Sunday, October 10, 2021, 3:00 PM at the Performing Arts Center at Oak Ridge High School. The concert features music left behind when the pandemic hit in 2020: Jeff Midkiff’s Mandolin Concerto “From the Blue Ridge;” Jean Sibelius’ Finlandia; and Jean Sibelius’ Symphony no. 3. An additional selection, a fanfare by Kathryn Bostic entitled Portrait of a Peaceful Warrior, rounds out the program.
General admission seating. Adult $25. Young Adult (19-29) $10. Admission is free for youth ages 18 and under. Free admission for chaperones of youth groups of 5 or more. Chaperones must call or email to reserve by 3:00 PM on the Thursday prior to the concert.
Tickets are available at the door, by phone at (865) 483-5569, or at www.ORCMA.org. All ORCMA concerts and activities are created following health and safety protocols that are evaluated regularly. Currently, all concert-goers are required to be masked and practice social distancing. Ushers will assist with seating. Musicians will also be masked and distanced. Venues, programs, and artists subject to change or cancellation depending on health guidelines.
