UT Gardens, Knoxville: Garden Discovery Camps
Dates: June 6 – August 4
- June 6-9: Garden Explorer Camp (ages 6-11) – Tuesday-Friday, 9 AM – 2 PM. Grow into a gardener from the ground up with this fun-filled camp hosted by the Knox County UT Extension Master Gardeners. Cost: $45 ($35 for members)
- June 12-16: Growing Art & Gardens for Lil’ Gardeners (ages 4-5) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Participants will learn how to find art in nature and put nature into art using observation, collection, patterns, and manipulation of found objects to create two and three dimensional art. Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
- June 19-23: Art & Nature for Teen Thrive (ages 11-13) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Learn about botany, horticulture, plants and landscaping through creative arts exploration. Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
- June 26-30: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them in the Garden for Explorers (ages 6-10) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Share in the excitement as Newt Scamander helps us explore the many beasts that we find crawling and flying around the garden. Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
- July 10-14: Cultivating the Edible Garden for Explorers (ages 6-10) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. We will learn how to plant, maintain and harvest seasonal vegetable gardens. Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
- July 17-19: Camp Cultivate: Food Allergy Friendly Camp for ages 6-12 (Children under 6 may attend with a parent) – Monday-Wednesday, 9 AM – 12 PM. This is an opportunity for kids with food allergies to learn healthy coping skills in a beautiful garden setting. Free.
- July 24-28: The Garden as a Science Laboratory for Explorers (ages 6-10) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Participants will learn how plants grow, the movement of materials through plants, the life cycle of plants, the water cycle, the nitrogen cycle, decomposition and more! Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
- July 31 – August 4: Lil’ Gardeners on the Farm for Lil’ Gardeners (ages 4-5) – Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. We will explore the ideas of gardening, farming, producers, consumers and food chains. Cost: $130 ($110 for members)
